Can you pay a credit card with a debit card?

I'm thinking about getting a credit card to build my credit, and I was just wondering if anyone out there knew if you can use your debit card to pay off a credit card bill? I've always just used my debit card to pay for my purchases, and that way I always knew I didn't spend more than I had. That hasn't helped me build any credit though.|||Some banks are set up to do this and some are not.

When there is more demand from people. It may be available for everyone some day. In the U.S. some phone, electric, and other companies are taking atm/debit cards with either the Star or Nyce logo. Some banks charge you a fee for running it as a Star or Nyce transactions.

Most credit card issuers will let you pay online though their website or over the phone. Some charge a fee for 'check by phone'. Your bank probably allows you to schedlue a payment from their website as well. You should allow a few days for payments initiated by your bank to clear.
