I'm a temporary work visa holder in the United States. No one wants to give me a credit card because i don't have a credit history. How can I get a credit history if I don't have a credit card. What are the options available to me?|||You can go to your financial institution, and get a secured loan. Basically, it is like putting your own money down to buy a loan. As you make scheduled monthly payment, the principle will become available for you while your financial institution charges the interest (8% if I am right). If you don't have any other options, take out another secured loan when this one is all paid in full. The purpose of it is to lengthen your credit history.
It also depends on how long your visa is valid for. If it is a short-term visa, like 3 months, 6 months, it might not worth much to try because your financial institution only reports to the credit bureau once a year. But if you plan to stay in the states for a while, a secured loan might be the starter plan for you.|||Secured credit card for 1 year, then regular.|||Have a look here.
