I want to start building my credit (I have no credit). Where and how is the best way to get a credit card? How do I know which card to get? I am 23 and I have a checking and savings account with Bank of America. More advice the better. Thanks.|||The simplest is to get one through your bank. If you realy want to investigate different options:
www.creditcards.com
list all kinds of cards that are available.|||My advice is don't do it. If you brought up this subject to friends, over time you'll see that 4 out of 5 will have a negative experience with credit card(s). These credit companies don't make any money from the service they advertise. They make their real money from the first time a card holder misses a payment, is delayed because of the mail, go over the limit, et cetera. Then you are financially punished, and it takes a very long time to get out from under an always accumulating debt. The bottom line is these companies profit from your misfortune. You can use your utility payment history for credit along with rent or any payments. The credit companies want you to believe you need them to establish credit, but you really don't. The best purchasing power comes from showing you have a disposable income - as with buying a car. Good luck.|||Bank of America has at least 3 different cards they offer.
They are the best around.
Google Bank of America Credit cards.
Forget store cards - they are now harder than ever to get.
Stay away from Discover, and Chase - their rewards are practically scams - just read the fine print.
Chose the one that has 1% cash back.
Clearly, the interest is high on cash back cards, but if you are trying to get top notch credit scores, you'll never pay interest, since you will pay in full each month.
Use credit - don't let it use you.
Pay in full each month for amazing credit ratings.
.|||it is typically easier to get a credit card with a bank that you have been with for a while. in this day and age, credit is scarce, so you might not be able to get approved for a credit card immediately through any random lender, since you would be considered high risk. I would ask to several banks and credit unions first, without actually applying (keep in mind credit apps ding you for a small portion of your score) --
i would honestly start your credit by taking out small loans with ur bank (say $500,) pay it back on time or early, repeat until you have good credit established..
DO NOT RUSH INTO GETTING A CREDIT CARD.. its not all its cracked up to be.|||You can search lots of banks online to get a credit card and start building your own credit. You can also visit any credit repair business to help you get started like www.best-homebased-business.net/
Thanks|||It is best to never get a credit card. They are nothing but trouble and can get you into debt:(
