What happens when you leave your credit card at a restaurant?

I am pretty sure I left my credit card in the folder they give you at a restaurant last week...If I did, would they still have the credit card and would it still be active?|||We save them for awhile. We dont want to cut it up and throw it out if theres a chance they will come back for it. I'll usually call if I can find them in the phonebook and let them know, and after a week they go up in the office.





We have some that have been sitting in our office for years. Eventually they get cut up and thrown out, but we keep them for quite some time.





If you're still uneasy about it, or they dont have it, I would call and have it deactivated.|||The only way your credit card WOULD NOT be active is if you phoned your card company to let them know you have a lost card. If you did not do this, you better get it done. I would think if you called the restaurant, (if they are honest) they would tell you whether they have it or not. If you are listed in the phone book, the restaurant should have called you by now.





I would call the restaurant, first. After that if they don't have your card, I would call the card company and report a lost credit card.





ADD: Make sure if you call the card company you let them know the date the card was lost to protect yourself......... against any charges incurred from that day forward.|||It's still active until you cancel it and if they haven't called you about it you better cancel it right away and tell the credit card company when and where you left it so you won't be charged for the stuff that might be charged to it.|||I recently left mine at Olive Garden I called the restaurant ,asked to speak with the waitress and after she confirmed my name she said it was there. When I showed up to pick it up I had to wait a few minutes bcuz it was in the safe.|||usually if a credit card is found they give it to the manager and they put it in safe place

It never occurs to abuse it (besides the obvious fact that we would be caught. call the restaurant, its still there %26amp; I bet no one has touched it. Its sitting in their registered.|||Your card will still be active, yes. Call the restaurant to make sure they still have it. If you want to cancel your card, call your bank and tell them what happened.|||if the restaurant guys saw it then it would still be there or..........u better cancel it or ur next months salary god knows
