How and where to apply for a credit card?

I want to start building my credit (I have no credit). Where and how is the best way to get a credit card? How do I know which card to get? More advice the better. Thanks.|||Where is your checking account?

This is your best bet - since you are already established with them.

See if they have a 1% cash back card.

They have higher interest rates - but if you want to build up credit - you will never pay interest on a card.

You will pay the balance off in full each month - no interest this way.

Don't like what your bank has to offer?

Go to Bankrate.com , Credit.com, Nerd Wallet.com

Find a card with 1% cash back and enjoy.

Note: Anyone under 21 will not be able to get a credit card - new laws.

You will have to have a parent co-sign on a card with you.

/|||How old are you?

If you are under 21, most likely, you will get declined for any unsecured credit card. You would need to prove income or have a parent cosign for you.

You may want to look into getting a secured credit card with your bank. (If you have a bank account)
