I've finally moved into the good credit status. I've only had one other credit card and the annual fee was ridiculous! So I cancelled it and am still in good standing. But with the economy falling, should I even try to get another one? You have to make one of the biggest decisions of your life right now:
Do you want:
A) A huge fico score and credit rating
B) A huge bank account.
You need to choose, because the steps you'll have to take to get one will prevent you from getting the other.
Want a huge fico score? Get a couple of credit cards, use them, and pay the minimums on time, and let the banks live off the interest.
Want a huge bank account? Don't get any credit cards, set aside 15% of what you make into long-term investments, and then you can live off the interest.|||Get one from a credit union. At my credit union they charge 7.9% with no annual fee for Visa and Mastercard. They don't up the rates because a person is a little late. Since I have been with my credit union for a while they charge me 5.9%. One is eligible for credit union membership through their job, family, community or association. They are non profit and owned by their members. They have low loan rates and pay good savings rates.|||The one with the lowest interest rate and no annual fee.|||That depends on what you want out of your card. I mean, what kind of rewards are you looking for. Free gas, free food, gift voucher...I have an Costco American Express and they give you rebate on all purchases. Costco purchase 3% gas and grocery-2% and others 1%. I was able to received a check from costco last week for $180 and I can use the money to spend at costco. One thing I can tell you is avoid Chase cards. They are the worst in charging finance fee and you will hate it.
