How easy is it to get a credit card in Australia if you are not a permanent resident?

I have been in full time employment since I moved to Australia and have employer sponsorship.

Would like to get a credit card to establish a credit rating as I might want to buy a house here one day and also need to book flight home for Christmas!

What financial institutions are likely to give me a credit card?|||I say that the chances are pretty high in being able to obtain one specially if you are already with a banking institution already. They may not offer you a big limit, but Im sure they would offer you something.

I went to the UK on my visa, they offered me a credit card on my first day there.

Good luck with your sponsorship :-)|||Unfortunatley it's against UCCC guidelines to give a credit card to someone who isnt either an Oz Citizen or Permanent Resident in Australa. You will need to first apply for permanent residency to be able to apply.|||I am sure the you can get a credit card sence you are in fool time imployment.|||Thank you for your very interesting question!
